Frasers Property is here to support in whatever way we can during these unprecedented times. Nothing matters more than the health, well-being and safety of the communities we operate in. We are committed to leveraging our operations and property portfolio to support communities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to reach out to the communities and provide ongoing relief efforts. Among our initiatives include fundraising, sponsoring mask production, organising blood donation drives, promoting reading among rural children via book donations and building a library, as well as contributing donations to help migrant workers and vulnerable groups.
Blood donation drives
We have been collaborating with Singapore Red Cross Society and Thai Red Cross Society to help the on-going community relief efforts and mobilise blood donation drives and the setup of mobile stations with staff and tenants at select commercial properties. As restrictions slowly ease across various cities, the Red Cross Societies can count on us to continue playing a part.
Donations to support good causes
To extend for our appreciation and care for migrant workers in the construction sector, we have made monetary contributions to REDAS Solidarity project Fund. The fund will go towards essential care pack items such as sanitisers, soaps and dental kits which will be distributed to workers in dormitories and other initiatives.
As we seek a long-term partnership with Singapore Red Cross Society, one of our collaborations includes donating to them to support local services such as engaging isolated senior citizens, safeguarding residents with severe and multiple disabilities, chaperoning and transporting low income patients to meet their medical needs, as well as providing enrichment programmes for children and youth.
Our team in the United Kingdom has doubled its target for its 'Do something good in May’ campaign to raise over £20,000 for FareShare – a charity that provides meals to vulnerable people across the country. The contribution will stand to benefit 8,000 beneficiaries. To reach the ambitious target, the team has been collectively covering the distance between all its offices and assets by setting themselves personal challenges to run, walk, cycle and spin, clocking up over 2,500 kilometres. The team also came up with creative, baking, jigsaw, and daily yoga challenges to help achieve their goal. Read more here.
Sponsorship of mask production and providing complimentary masks
Our retail-focused platform under Frasers Property Singapore, Frasers Property Retail, was among the first Singapore companies to each commit US$50,000 upfront to purchase the initial shipments of masks from Razer’s manufacturing line. Frasers Property Retail also provides complimentary space for the placement of Razer’s mask vending machines within its malls, which are conveniently located close to transportation nodes. Elsewhere in Thailand, Mr Anil Malik, the General Manager of Fraser Suites Sukhumvit, led his team to overcome shortage of masks in the community in March this year. Each day, they would make about 20 to 30 masks using clean linen. The team then distributed the washable and reusable masks to the Tuk Tuk drivers who ferried guests at the serviced residence or those parked outside the property.
